Police officers from the Bolesławiec traffic unit checked nearly 300 drivers during Tuesday’s operation on the motorway. Among those stopped were two 43-year-old drivers who had been driving under the influence of alcohol. One of them, a resident of Lwówek County, had more than 1.2 per mille of alcohol in his system.
A 47-year-old driver also lost his driving license after driving a car while under the influence of alcohol.
Police officers stress that regular sobriety checks are intended to increase road safety and reduce the number of dangerous incidents caused by drunk drivers. Officers remind drivers that even a small amount of alcohol can affect reaction time, the assessment of situations and the ability to drive a vehicle.
The officers announce further checks and appeal to drivers to exercise common sense.
