Work has begun on the reconstruction of Gałczyński Street in Bolesławiec. This is a project that residents of the housing estate have been waiting for for quite some time. Due to the works, drivers and pedestrians must prepare for temporary disruptions and possible changes to traffic organization.

Traffic organization changes

Part of Gałczyński Street, divided by a green strip, has already been closed to traffic. On the remaining section, traffic is moving in both directions.

The City Hall has already handed over the construction site to the project contractor. The work is being carried out by “Przedsiębiorstwo Budownictwa Drogowego Franciszek Michalik” from Gryfów Śląski. The value of the signed contract is more than PLN 1.29 million.

The scope of work is extensive. Road workers will replace the road surface, reconstruct the existing access roads and modernize the parking area. A new sidewalk and a section of a route intended for pedestrians and cyclists will also be built.

The intersections will also be reconstructed, and modern street lighting will be installed in the project area. The design also provides for improved drainage, which is intended to reduce problems with standing water during heavy rainfall.

After the work is completed, the contractor will restore the areas affected by demolition work. The city emphasizes that the project is intended to improve residents’ comfort and the safety of all road users.

The reconstruction of Gałczyński Street is scheduled to be completed on August 12, 2026. The project has received funding from the Government Roads Development Fund, which will cover 65 percent of the investment’s value.
