On Monday, May 4, 2026, at 11:10 p.m., firefighters from Gromadka were dispatched once again that day to a fire at an abandoned building in the town.
Upon arriving at the scene, firefighters found as many as four separate fires located in different parts of the former foundry site.
The danger was eliminated, and fortunately no one was injured. The OSP KSRG Gromadka (GBA) and OSP KSRG Różyniec (GCBA) units took part in the operation.
This was already another intervention at the same location, which naturally raises questions about the cause of the fires. Arson cannot be ruled out.
The former foundry site has been abandoned for years and poses a potential danger. The incident once again draws attention to the problem of unsecured abandoned buildings, which can become sites of dangerous incidents.
