In the village of Ocice, an exceptional Municipal Firefighter Day celebration took place, with this year’s event having a special character. The ceremony was combined with the official opening of the newly built Volunteer Fire Department station and the handover of a modern rescue vehicle for the local unit.
The celebration began with a solemn Mass, after which participants took part in an official ceremony. The symbolic handover of the new station was the key moment of the event. Andrzej Janiec, Head of Bolesławiec Municipality, presented the handover document to the OSP president, emphasizing the importance of this investment for the entire community.

New vehicle
During the ceremony, firefighters also received a modern rescue vehicle based on a Ford Transit chassis. The purchase was co-financed by the Marshal’s Office of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship, and its total value was PLN 150,000. The new equipment will significantly increase the unit’s operational capabilities and improve the effectiveness of rescue operations.
Representatives of the government and local authorities, uniformed services and numerous public institutions attended the event. The presence of such a broad group of guests underscored the importance of the event and the significance of cooperation for residents’ safety.
Firefighters from other OSP units operating in the municipality were also present, adding distinction to the ceremony. The meeting was an opportunity not only to celebrate, but also to integrate the firefighting community and local residents.
The new station and modern rescue vehicle are a real reinforcement of the regional safety system. The investment demonstrates how effective cooperation between local authorities, public institutions and residents can translate into concrete action and an improved quality of life.
This year’s celebration in Ocice was not only a holiday for firefighters, but also a symbol of development and concern for the safety of the entire local community.
