Bolesławiec County has gained new leaders in the ranks of the Volunteer Fire Service. An examination concluding training for firefighters directing rescue operations was held at the District Headquarters of the State Fire Service in Bolesławiec. Twenty-four firefighters from across the county achieved a positive result.

The training lasted 34 hours and covered both theoretical and practical topics. Participants gained knowledge of the structure and organization of the national rescue and firefighting system, the principles of command during rescue operations, as well as the organization of communications and inter-service cooperation.

One of the most important elements of the course was specialist instruction devoted to explosive hazards during rescue operations. It was led by an expert in this field, Radosław Mazur. The knowledge provided is intended to help firefighters more effectively identify risks associated with the presence of hazardous materials at an incident scene.

The final examination was conducted by officers appointed by the Provincial Commander of the State Fire Service in Wrocław. The commission was chaired by brig. Marek Kicka from the Training Centre of the Provincial Headquarters of the State Fire Service in Wrocław.

Obtaining authorization to direct rescue operations is an important step for Volunteer Fire Service firefighters. The new commanders will be able to lead rescue operations, make decisions in crisis situations and coordinate responses during fires, road accidents and local hazards.

For residents of Bolesławiec County, this means greater safety and even better preparation of local Volunteer Fire Service units to provide assistance wherever every minute counts.
