Police have provided new information about a serious accident that occurred on Sunday evening on the A4 motorway towards Wrocław. At the 52nd kilometre of the route, near Krzyżowa, two passenger cars—audi and Kia—collided. Three people were injured in the incident and taken to hospital.
Officers determined that the people involved were residents of Zgorzelec County. A married couple travelling in the Kia and a man driving the Audi were taken to hospital. It is not yet known how serious their injuries are.
Initial findings indicate that the Audi struck the Kia, after which the second car left the road. The impact was so severe that emergency services had to intervene and secure the scene.
Police officers also reported that a man left the accident scene before they arrived. According to initial findings, he may have been driving one of the vehicles involved in the incident. Activities are under way to establish all the circumstances and locate the man.
Immediately after the accident, the A4 motorway towards Wrocław was completely blocked. Drivers had to expect major disruptions and detours.
This is another incident on one of the busiest sections of the A4 motorway. Police are appealing to drivers to exercise caution, adjust their speed to the conditions and maintain a safe distance between vehicles.
