BoryRun 3.0 is returning to Kliczków. The running festival will take place on May 24, 2026, with the start and finish of the races located at Kliczków Castle. The organizers promise sporting excitement, forest routes, attractions for children, and competition for runners of various skill levels.

The event program includes four main distances: the BoryRun Marathon, half marathon, the 10 km Uniformed Services Run, the 10 km Castle Run, and 5 km Nordic Walking. Registration and the regulations are available at boryrun.pl. The istotne.pl portal is the event’s media patron.

Another important piece of information is that Bolesławiec County has assumed honorary patronage of the event. Bolesławiec County starosta Tomasz Gabrysiak encourages people to take part.

– Ladies and Gentlemen, next month, on May 24, there will be a major sporting event in Bolesławiec County, in the Osiecznica municipality. The BoryRun running festival. Four main competitions: 40, 20 and 10 kilometers, and a race for Nordic Walking enthusiasts. Come with your children; there will be activities and sports competitions for our youngest participants all day – says Tomasz Gabrysiak, Bolesławiec County starosta.

As the starosta emphasizes, the event is intended to promote active leisure in one of the region’s most naturally attractive areas.

– We invite you to Bolesławiec. We invite you to Bolesławiec County, the Osiecznica municipality. The largest forest complex in Lower Silesia, and one of the largest in our country. We run through the forest in an unusual way. We run with our children, we run with animals. We spend our time actively in Bolesławiec County – encourages Tomasz Gabrysiak.

The organizers report that one of the event’s elements will be the 10 km Uniformed Services Run. This is a special category intended for people who wear a uniform at work or school. Participants may include representatives of the Polish Armed Forces, the Police, the Fire Service, the Border Guard, the Prison Service, the Forest Guard, the National Revenue Administration, paramilitary formations, and uniformed classes.

Competitors in this category will have to complete 10 kilometers in uniform and military boots. According to the organizers, this is not only a sporting competition, but also a way to integrate uniformed services communities and highlight the role of services in the country’s security system.

Attractions for the youngest participants are also planned. The organizers have announced BoryRun Activ, special fitness competitions for children. It will also be possible to take part in the event with a dog.

– Bory Run. A major sporting event. We run together. Lots of competitions, lots of attractions. We are meeting in the Osiecznica municipality, in Bolesławiec County. Kliczków. A good place to spend time actively. Let’s run together – says the starosta.

The festival’s ambassador is Jerzy Skarżyński, one of Poland’s best-known marathon runners, a coach, and author of running guides. His personal marathon record is 2:11:42, and in 1989 he won the Warsaw Marathon.

The idea for and organizer of the event is Andrzej Stefańczyk, president of the BoryRun Association, a radio and television reporter, and marathon runner. As he explained, the idea of organizing the race was born after his participation in the New York Marathon. The inspiration came from the running conditions offered by the Lower Silesian Forests and the area around Kliczków Castle.

Tomasz Gabrysiak points out that BoryRun is also intended to present Bolesławiec County from a different perspective than the one most commonly associated with the region.

– Bolesławiec County is not only Bolesławiec pottery. It also offers the opportunity to spend time actively in nature in the Lower Silesian Forests. Beautiful, large forest complexes that are conducive to active leisure and recreation. BoryRun. A major sporting event. Let’s meet in Bolesławiec County – emphasizes the starosta.

The BoryRun 3.0 festival will take place on Saturday, May 24, in Kliczków, in the Osiecznica municipality. The organizers encourage people both to compete in the races and to participate as families – with children, relatives, and people who want to spend an active day in the Lower Silesian Forests.
