The official poster for this year’s Ceramic Festival returns to motifs that, as the organizer writes, are directly associated with Bolesławiec. A topless woman surrounded by a ceramic pattern designed by Beata Montowska was chosen.

– It is precisely she (the topless woman – editor’s note) who should be placed on the pedestal of this year’s festival. We present this year’s graphic to you and leave you with the question: how do you like it? – adds the organizer (we assume that Kornel Filipowicz, because he is the head of BOK – MCC – editor’s note).

The organizer’s choice is all the more surprising because, as various media outlets report, the president of Bolesławiec did not like the clay figure Monika Tichy, who walked topless in the Ceramic Festival parade in 2024. Monika Tichy was taken to court for this performance.

– As a clay figure covered in clay and wearing only the lower part of underwear, I portrayed the biblical Eve – says Monika Tichy. – I carried a banner with a colleague bearing the words “We are all made of the same clay” against a rainbow background, and I think that this element was the main reason for the authorities’ hostile reaction toward us – the woman adds.

In 2024, Piotr Roman was outraged at the sight of the topless clay figure marching in the parade.

– We had an element of provocation during the parade – Piotr Roman said at the festival’s closing. – Unfortunately, some mothers with children had to cover their children’s eyes and turn their heads away, but I hope that the perpetrators will be punished. Please help if anyone has photographs of these actions – the president concluded his speech.

A few days ago, the Bolesławiec court ruled that no offense had been committed and that Monika Tichy’s action was artistic.

Below is the official poster for the Ceramic Festival in 2026. We assume that in this case mothers will not be forced to cover their children’s eyes.
