On 23 April 2026, an agreement was signed to co-finance the project entitled “Construction of a bicycle path in Warta Bolesławiecka municipality”. This is an investment that many residents of the region have been waiting for. As a result, a modern bicycle route 2.6 kilometers long will be built, connecting Warta Bolesławiecka municipality with Gromadka municipality.

The total value of the project is PLN 3 880 847.53, while the amount of funding granted is PLN 2 716 593.27. The local government emphasizes that the investment is highly significant in terms of transport and social benefits.

Modern bicycle path and greater safety

The planned path will be built with a bituminous surface. It will be 3 meters wide, with crushed-stone shoulders planned on both sides. This solution is intended to ensure comfortable riding both for cyclists commuting to work every day and for people using the route recreationally.

The project also takes into account the needs of people with disabilities. It includes, among other things, appropriately adapted surfaces, the removal of level differences at connections and suitable spacing of signposts at the beginning and end of the bicycle path.

Easier commuting and fewer cars

The new route is intended to make it easier to reach the economic zone located in neighboring Gromadka municipality, in the area of Tomaszów Bolesławiecki and Szczytnica. This is particularly important information for residents who travel this route every day on their way to work.

The local government hopes that the investment will encourage some drivers to switch to bicycles. In practice, this could mean less car traffic, reduced exhaust emissions and improved air quality in the region.
