This coming Friday, 15 July, the opening of an exhibition featuring the works of three artists—Marita, Jadwiga and Weronika Gajda—will take place at the BOK-MCC Gallery. The exhibition will open at 6:00 p.m.. The exhibition will be open to visitors until 1 August this year.
Marita Benke-Gajda
A graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków. After graduating, she worked in interior design, and from 1980 also in ceramics, which eventually became her primary discipline. For more than 20 years, she has worked in education, and since 2003 has been a lecturer in the Sculpture in Ceramics Studio at the Faculty of Sculpture of the Kraków Academy of Fine Arts. Her achievements include more than 100 solo exhibitions, both in Poland and abroad, as well as many group exhibitions. She has received numerous awards for her artistic work and has twice been a scholarship holder of the Minister of Culture and Art. In 2009, she received the ARS QUAERENDI award from the Marshal of the Małopolska Voivodeship. She recently celebrated 30 years of artistic work.
Jadwiga Gajda-Lusina
A graduate of the State Secondary School of Fine Arts in Nowy Wiśnicz, where she studied Artistic Ceramics. She received a scholarship from the Minister of Culture and Art. She completed her studies at the Faculty of Graphic Arts of the Kraków Academy of Fine Arts. In 2004, she obtained her diploma at the Photography Studio of Professor Zbigniew Łagocki. She is a graduate of postgraduate pedagogical studies in Artistic Education. In the 2002–2003 academic year, she was a participant in the Socrates–Erasmus programme in Valencia, Spain. She is the author of several solo and group exhibitions. She works as a designer at the Kraków ceramic studio “Kafel-Art” and as a ceramics instructor at the Municipal Centre of Culture and Promotion of the Zabierzów Municipality. Her primary artistic disciplines are ceramics and photography.
Weronika Gajda
Born in 1985. She received her diploma from the Faculty of Sculpture of the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków in 2010, in the studio of Professor Jerzy Nowakowski. In 2008/2009, she completed an internship at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Valencia, where she also took part in an exhibition of students’ works from the Escultura II studio—“Procesos mecánicos i constructivos”. She has participated in around a dozen exhibitions of works by students of the Ceramic Sculpture Studio at the Kraków Academy of Fine Arts. She is a graduate of the Pedagogical Study programme in Artistic Education offered by the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków. She participated in a partnership agreement programme between the Kraków and Munich counties. She primarily works with ceramics.
