On Thursday (7 July) at approximately 3:00 p.m., the municipal police duty officer spotted young people on monitoring footage pulling a cart loaded with sheets of metal. The information was passed on to a municipal police patrol. Officers located the cart with the metal behind one of the buildings on Tysiąclecia Avenue. However, there was no one by the cart. Municipal police officers searched the area and detained a group of young people near the local garages—the same group that had earlier been pulling the cart. The youngest of those detained was 12 years old. The minors admitted that they had transported the sheets of metal from Hutnicza Street. It turned out that the stolen elements had come from the roof of an abandoned building (in the vicinity of the eastern railway station). The municipal police, together with the police, handed the minors over to their parents. The family court will deal with the case of the underage thieves.
