Police officers from the Nowogrodziec Police Station charged two people suspected of stealing items collected by OSP firefighters. The Bolesławiec Police Headquarters:
The crime took place on March 12 this year. Two men drove a van to the fire station, from where they took items collected as part of the fundraiser. The items were to be sold, and the proceeds used to purchase essential equipment for OSP. The value of the stolen property was estimated at approximately PLN 1,000.
When one of the suspects realized that the items taken belonged to OSP and that the entire incident had been recorded, he returned the stolen property.
As a result of cooperation between police officers from Nowogrodziec and Bolesławiec, the suspects were arrested. Both are residents of Osiecznica Municipality and are known to local police. The 19-year-old was charged with theft.
Since the beginning of the year, he had already been suspected of four other property-related offenses.
The second detainee is a 45-year-old man who was charged with a total of five offenses. He will be held responsible not only for theft, but also for driving despite having had his driving privileges revoked. In addition, he was wanted to serve a sentence of one year and three months in prison for previous property-related offenses.
A few days later, the situation happened again. Bolesławiec officers: – The man whose image was recorded by surveillance cameras took a saw from the collection site. He soon returned the property belonging to the firefighters.
Police are also investigating this incident.
