In July, the Film Discussion Club invites you to four titles, including Lars von Trier’s “Melancholia”, premiered in May 2011. Screenings take place every Monday at 7:00 p.m. at Kino Forum. The programme includes:

“Zorba the Greek” – drama, Greece, USA, Great Britain, 1964, 142 min. The film received Oscars in 1965 for Best Supporting Actor, cinematography and set decoration (4 July, today).

“Dogtooth” – drama, Greece, 2009, 96 min. The film received an award in the Un Certain Regard section at the Cannes Film Festival. At the 25th Warsaw Film Festival, it was presented in the “Discoveries” section (11 July).

“Melancholia” – drama, Denmark, France, 2011, 130 min. Another film by Lars von Trier after the acclaimed, provocative “Antichrist”. This time, the author of “Breaking the Waves” and “Dancer in the Dark” made a very personal psychological film about the end of the world (18 July).

“The Mosquito Net” – drama, Spain, 2010, 95 min. The film was awarded at Karlovy Vary in 2010 and received the “Crystal Globe” as the best film (25 July).
