A summary of winter activities at Polana Jakuszycka
The snow on the trails quickly attracted skiers, and the following weeks brought events that made Polana come alive with sport from morning until evening. Events that stood out this winter included:
- Lower Silesian Winter – a weekend full of activity, meetings and winter energy that attracted residents from across the region to Jakuszyce.
- IBU Para-Biathlon World Cup – athletes from many countries competed on the trails and at the shooting range, while fans could watch exciting para-biathlon competition.
- FIS Para Cross-Country World Cup – a few days later, the competition arena once again belonged to athletes competing in para cross-country skiing.
- The 50th anniversary Bieg Piastów attracted thousands of competitors and fans, and the atmosphere of Poland’s biggest cross-country skiing celebration could be felt at every kilometre.
- Women’s Day on cross-country skis – more than 50 participants met on the trails and spent an active day together.
- Competitions, sports camps, winter camps and club training sessions took place, while the winter holidays attracted many enthusiasts of active recreation. There was also time for meetings and events: concerts, conferences and a session of the Lower Silesian Regional Assembly.
Now we are preparing for another season of activity in the Izera Mountains.
