Officers of the Customs and Tax Service from the Lower Silesian Customs and Tax Office in Wrocław (DUCS) uncovered illegal trading activity conducted online. – During the inspection, it was established that the seller offered new women’s clothing for sale through a well-known social media platform – reports Sebastian Polański from the Tax Administration Chamber in Wrocław.

He adds:

The goods—most of them purchased in Italy—were sold in Poland, other European Union (EU) countries and outside the EU. Orders were fulfilled mainly through courier companies.

What did the experts establish?

Experts established that the seller had not registered a business. To conceal the scale of the trade, he used bank accounts belonging to third parties, including members of his family.

Spokesperson: – The indicated accounts received payments for the goods sold totaling more than PLN 9.6 million, in 36,590 transactions.

VAT due and assets seized

As a result of the customs and tax inspection, it was established that the VAT liability had been understated by more than PLN 1.7 million in connection with the sale of goods.

Sebastian Polański:

Real property, movable property and PLN 1 million in cash were seized to cover future tax liabilities.

The investigation is being conducted by the Head of the Lower Silesian Customs and Tax Office in Wrocław under the supervision of the District Prosecutor’s Office in Oleśnica.
