According to findings by the police in Zgorzelec, a 44-year-old Opel driver failed to yield the right of way to a 23-year-old Kia driver, leading to a collision. As a result of the accident, a two-year-old child travelling in the Kia was taken to hospital.
Failing to yield the right of way is one of the most common causes of road incidents. A moment of inattention, haste or misjudging the distance can lead to serious consequences.
The police remind drivers:
- when approaching an intersection, always exercise particular caution,
- pay attention to horizontal and vertical road markings,
- adjust your speed to the road conditions and traffic volume,
- follow the principle of limited trust towards other road users.
