Two members of the management remain silent about how much they are paying for advertisements and the company’s statement on the portal Marcin Marczewski’s.
Marczewski’s editorial office has already published two paid statements by the company concerning the conflict with the trade union members, and it may publish more because the conflict is ongoing. It appears that President Grzesiowski and board member Huczyński are very keen for no one to find out about the financial agreements between the portal and the company.
On February 24, 2026, citing the Access to Public Information Act, we asked how much the company had paid in 2025 for advertising in Marcin Marczewski’s newspaper and on his portal. Later that same day, we also asked about the payment for the statement dated February 23, 2026.
– In the opinion of Zakłady Ceramiczne “Bolesławiec,” the company is not obliged to provide public information under the Act – President Arkadiusz Grzesikowski and board member Wojciech Huczyński state in a letter to the editorial office dated March 9, 2026. We received no response at all to the question about payment for the statement.
It should be added that just a year ago, the president had no problem answering how much the company paid Marczewski for promotion. He informed us that from 2023 through February 2025, the company had used advertising only once – in August 2023, it was paid for by the company’s former president, a Law and Justice nominee, Sebastian Fijałkowski, and the gross invoice amounted to PLN 1,230.
Avoiding transparency?
President Arkadiusz Grzesikowski and board member Wojciech Huczyński cite numerous judgments by administrative courts in their letter to us, interpreting them to suit their position. On this basis, they claim that the mere fact that the State Treasury holds shares in the company does not oblige the enterprise to operate transparently under the Access to Public Information Act.
In our opinion, the management is attempting in this way to limit knowledge of its financial agreements with Marczewski’s portal during a period of heightened conflict with the trade union members.
It is reasonable to ask what purpose this paid cooperation serves when statements are published in which the president and board member argue with articles appearing on istotne.pl. The management members describe the actions of the chairwoman of the Zakłady Ceramiczne Bolesławiec Employees’ Trade Union and mislead the public by stating that NSZZ “Solidarity” does not support the Zakłady Ceramiczne Bolesławiec Employees’ Trade Union, which is inconsistent with the facts. The Jelenia Góra Region Board of NSZZ “Solidarity” declared its full support for the dismissed chairwoman and its readiness to undertake legal and social action to defend workers’ rights and restore dialogue within the plant.
The lack of financial transparency appears to serve no one and nothing at a time when the management, despite a statutory requirement, still has not introduced new remuneration regulations.
As the istotne.pl editorial office, we are referring the matter to the Voivodeship Administrative Court against the management of Zakłady Ceramiczne Bolesławiec over its failure to respond to a question concerning public information.
