On Saturday evening, an elderly resident of Lwówek Śląski County received a phone call. A man claiming to be connected with her son’s case informed her that a serious accident had occurred. He claimed that money was urgently needed for treatment and a lawyer.
The amount? As much as PLN 85,000.
Under the influence of strong emotions, the senior citizen began preparing her savings. After some time, an unknown man knocked on the door of her flat to collect the cash.
Fortunately, an alert neighbour overheard the conversation. When the man appeared at the door, she firmly demanded that he show his identity document. Police:
The surprised “money collector” could not prove his identity and fled.👏 Thanks to the neighbour’s decisive reaction, the senior citizen did not lose her savings!
