During the February session of the Bolesławiec County Council, councillors will consider a resolution concerning a change to the name of Bolesławiec’s “Budowlanka”.
Who requested the name change?
As stated in the justification for the document:
On 12 January 2026, the Director of ZSB submitted a request (amended on 14 January 2026) to change ZSB’s name to the Technical and Architectural Schools Complex in Bolesławiec. The proposed name received positive opinions from the ZSB Teaching Council (...), Parents’ Council (...) and Student Council (...).
Why does the school’s management want to change its name?
The draft resolution explains the matter as follows:
In the justification for the request to change ZSB’s name, the Director indicated that over the past twenty years the school’s educational offer had changed due to the introduction of training in other professions.
It further specifies: – The leading fields of education at the schools comprising ZSB (Technical Secondary School No. 2 in Bolesławiec and Stage I Sectoral School No. 2 in Bolesławiec) are no longer professions belonging exclusively to the construction sector, but also: surveyor technician, landscape architecture technician, forestry technician, and, as part of recruitment for the 2026/2027 school year, admission will be held for the interior design technician course.
What will the school’s new name be?
The document states: – The requested name, Technical and Architectural Schools Complex in Bolesławiec, is consistent with the expectations of the communities of the schools comprising it and with the fields of education offered at those schools.
When will ZSB become ZSTA?
