As reported by the Zgorzelec police: At around 11:30 a.m., a road incident involving three trucks occurred on the A4 motorway in the direction of Germany.
Initial findings indicate that the 57-year-old driver of a Man truck failed to maintain a safe distance from the vehicle ahead and struck the rear of a Mercedes truck.
As a result of the chain reaction, the second vehicle struck another truck, also a Mercedes. Following the collision, the Man vehicle caught fire. The driver was transported to hospital.
Firefighters from PSP Zgorzelec and OSP Trójca, a medical rescue team and a police patrol were present at the scene.
Firefighters from PSP Bolesławiec were also dispatched to the rescue operation (Specialist Technical Rescue Group – SGRT).
Traffic towards Germany is currently moving in one lane.
