In August 2025, residents of one of the parishes in the Diocese of Legnica sent an email to Bishop Andrzej Siemieniewski describing their parish priest’s relationship with a woman. However, they received no response. They renewed their correspondence in October. And again, as they claim, there was no response from the Legnica Curia.
– Everything is being swept under the rug, which is why, in light of what we hear about the Curia in Legnica, we decided to send this information to you – the parishioners wrote in the email and sent the editorial office a letter to the bishop.

Reverend Bishop, we wish to inform Your Excellency that we are turning to the local media, and then we will see—perhaps to the national media—regarding our Parish Priest (...) in the parish of (...), who still has an affair with the director of the Catholic center in (...), a certain (...). He still meets with her, also at the rectory, and has once again left the parish for a week, most likely going to (...) to his lover. Bishop, you have done nothing about this affair, so we are turning to the media; since bishops allow priests such as our Parish Priest to lead such a double life, we will inform the media about it. We regret that Your Excellency did not intervene and allows our parish to be managed by a priest who has a lover.

– The parish priest is leading a double life – desperate parishioners report. – He leaves our parish and takes no interest in it. He often goes away, and we are deprived of religious and parish life; we have to seek help from other priests. The parish priest celebrates Mass in our church whenever he wants. We see him with a woman who comes to him at night and leaves before dawn after a few days. As we learned, she is the director of a Catholic center. Our parish priest often goes to this center under the pretext of rest and pastoral assistance. He travels there using our money, collected during the kolęda visits. He goes there almost every month, and there were months when he went twice a month. It is enough to ask in neighboring parishes how often the parish priest asks other priests to substitute for him for a week, always from Sunday to Saturday. From July to December, he was in his parish only five times: once in July, August, September, October, and now after the kolęda visits. The affair at the rectory continues under the bishops’ watch. Since no one at the Catholic center reacts to their relationship, and the bishop in the diocese also does not intervene, this shows how powerless the hierarchs are. People from our parish no longer want to go to church, seeing what our parish priest does with his lover. We recognized the lover from a photo on social media because the same person appeared at the rectory and works at the Catholic center, which we confirmed by calling the center. The parish priest is also arranging the purchase of a car for her. We want him to know that we do not approve of this conduct, which is why we turned to the media – the parishioners describe the matter.
We sent an inquiry to the spokesperson for the Legnica Curia asking whether, after receiving the information from the parishioners, the Curia had launched an investigation or any other clarifying action concerning the priest.
From previous reports, we already know about the Bishop of Legnica’s strong reaction in the case of the parish priest from Lubomierz. In 2024, the bishop initiated canonical proceedings against Fr.
