A reader who contacted us complained about the poor conditions on the roads of the rural Bolesławiec Municipality during winter.
Bolesławiec Municipality Office explains that snow removal in the municipality is carried out in accordance with the so-called standard V. In practice, this means that winter road maintenance focuses on removing accumulated snow and does not include eliminating slipperiness on all sections of municipal roads.
All asphalt-surfaced roads owned by Bolesławiec Municipality are cleared of snow.
Nevertheless, to reduce the danger in critical locations, 80 containers filled with sand have been placed throughout the municipality for residents to use to remove slipperiness. In addition, hills, bends and intersections on municipal roads are regularly covered with grit.
