Legnica police are warning about a new type of scam. Scammers send parcels to selected addresses that are actually worthless or empty, and the recipient has to pay cash upon delivery. It happens that someone accepts such a parcel, pays for it and is consequently defrauded.

How can you stay safe?

  • Do not pay for a parcel you did not order
  • Ask household members whether someone ordered the shipment
  • Check the sender and shipment number on the carrier’s official website
  • If a parcel seems suspicious, do not accept it
  • Keep evidence, such as the consignment note or proof of payment

Remember!

Being careful with cash-on-delivery parcels and checking in advance that someone at home actually ordered them is the simplest way to protect your money and safety
