As reported by the Nowogrodziec municipal office:
Employees of Hydro-Tech in Nowogrodziec remove pump failures at wastewater pumping stations many times throughout the year.
The reason? The municipality says:
❗ One of the main causes of failures is wet wipes flushed down the toilet, which cause blockages in the sewer system and serious, costly damage to pumps.
Officials add:
⚠️ We remind you—DO NOT flush the following into the sewer system, among other things:
🚫 wet wipes
🚫 food scraps and kitchen waste
🚫 hair, diapers and dressings
🚫 paper towels, cotton pads and newspapers
🚫 cigarette butts, medicines, paints and chemicals
🚫 fats and oils.
What are the consequences?
The office states:
📜 Under the Act of June 7, 2001, failure to comply with these rules is punishable by a fine of up to PLN 10,000 or restriction of liberty.

The office concludes:
🙏 We appeal to all residents to follow the rules for using the sewer system.
👉 Only toilet paper should be flushed down the toilet.
