The incident occurred on New Year’s Day. One minute before 11:00 p.m., firefighters from Osiecznica were dispatched to deal with a windthrown tree in the town.
The danger was eliminated; fortunately, no one was injured.
Windthrown trees pose a serious threat, both to people and to infrastructure. Fallen or broken trees can block roads, damage power lines, and create risks for pedestrians and drivers, especially after dark.
Hanging branches and unstable trunks are also dangerous, as they can fall at any moment under the influence of further gusts of wind. (This is a real threat to health and life.)
