We reported on the matter in 2022, concerning Kamienna Street, which is incorrectly located on Google Maps. According to the American technology giant, Kamienna Street in Bolesławiec is located near Kościuszki Street. According to the Bolesławiec City Office street register, Kamienna Street runs parallel to Bazaltowa Street (the exit toward Zgorzelec, the areas around Generała Nila Street and Zabobrze Street).
In 2022, spokesperson Agnieszka Gergont assured us that the office would contact Google to have this error removed. Unfortunately, nothing has changed since 2022. Couriers still get confused, and food delivery drivers do too.
“This is very frustrating both for residents and delivery drivers,” a reader reports. “You wrote about it in 2022, it is now almost 2026, and the city authorities have done nothing about it,” he adds.
We asked how officials verified the request sent to Google in 2022 to remove the incorrect location of Kamienna Street near Kościuszki Street. Which department or official contacted Google? We are awaiting the City Office’s response.
