A resident of Bolesławiec, Jordan Czopko, previously associated with the Canon and Street Soul Dance Crew groups, plans to create a new dance group in our city—BC Dance. “A new name, a new beginning, new people. But the same idea: to infect others with my passion,” says Jordan. “I invite everyone who wants to dance, develop their skills and promote new-style culture to the casting.”
The casting is open to people over the age of 10 and will take place on Tuesday, June 14, in the auditorium of the Stanisław Wyspiański Youth Cultural Centre in Bolesławiec. It starts at 7:15 p.m.. The programme includes:
- a warm-up and learning choreography (1 hour)
- time to prepare for the presentation (15 minutes)
- presentations in groups of 4–5 people (45 minutes)
- selection of the 10 most interesting dancers, who will join BC Dance.
In addition to dancing skills, the judges will also assess the young dancers’ photogenic qualities. “BC Dance is to be a performance group. We want to perform alongside artists and present our own choreographies during various cultural events,” Jordan explains.
Training sessions will be free of charge during the summer holidays. As the group’s initiator and leader stresses, the main aim is to have fun. However, he does not hide the fact that he has high hopes for the new group’s line-up. “I would like the members of BC Dance to be known for the fact that they dance,” he says.
A refuge and a remedy
“I took part in classes led by outstanding dancers and choreographers who have worked with Britney Spears and the Black Eyed Peas. Dance is pure magic. No dancer can imagine a routine eight-hour workday,” says the head of BC Dance. “Dance is an escape, a remedy for the drabness around us. Many people lack something like that. I hope that, thanks to BC Dance, a few people will catch the new-style dance bug.”
The media patron of the casting will be the Istotne.pl website.
