The Lower Silesian Weekend Ticket is a special offer allowing passengers to use Koleje Dolnośląskie and Polregio trains on all routes within Lower Silesian Voivodeship, as well as selected sections in Greater Poland and Lubusz voivodeships, and in the Czech Republic and Germany. One ticket is enough to board and leave trains multiple times throughout the long weekend – from 7 to 12 November. It is an ideal solution for those who want to visit family, go to the mountains or see the most beautiful places in Lower Silesia in autumn.
– The November long weekend is a time when many of us want to relax, meet with family or simply set off to experience the atmosphere of Lower Silesia. That is why we are extending the validity of the Lower Silesian Weekend Ticket, so that residents and tourists can travel freely on public holidays as well – says Damian Stawikowski, president of Koleje Dolnośląskie.
The Lower Silesian Weekend Ticket is valid from Friday, 7 November, at 6:00 p.m. until Wednesday, 12 November, at 6:00 a.m. This gives passengers as many as four full days of unlimited travel around the region. One ticket, no limits and no stress, with complete travel comfort.
The White-and-Yellow Route
Why is it worth going? Because Lower Silesia is captivating with its colours in autumn. The long weekend is the perfect time to take a white-and-yellow train to places such as Karpacz, Wrocław or Jelenia Góra, while travelling with KD is a convenient and environmentally friendly way to see the region from the best perspective – through the train window.
– Together with Koleje Dolnośląskie, we ensure that trains are modern and comfortable for travellers, but above all, we are constantly striving to increase their number and purchase new vehicles. Additional trains mean greater transport capacity, allowing us to serve more and more passengers. Another reason to choose a train instead of a car is the Lower Silesian Weekend Ticket, which is very attractively priced, especially during long weekends such as the upcoming one – says Paweł Gancarz, Marshal of Lower Silesian Voivodeship.
Koleje Dolnośląskie currently operate the fastest regional trains in Poland, which also makes it easier to sightsee and reach the most interesting places in Lower Silesia. Thanks to shorter journey times, it takes just over an hour to travel, for example, from Wrocław to Kłodzko, and two hours to Kudowa-Zdrój. This is important information for tourists planning to visit several attractive places in the near future.
– The recently opened route to Karpacz has only confirmed that rail travel is in fashion and that demand for new lines is enormous, both among residents and tourists. More than 140,000 passengers have used the connection since it was launched. As the Voivodeship government, we have significantly improved the region’s transport accessibility, which is why we particularly encourage people to visit beautiful Lower Silesia and admire its incredible views from the train window – stresses Michał Rado, Deputy Marshal of Lower Silesian Voivodeship, responsible, among other things, for rail transport.
Super Sprint. How quickly can you travel a popular route at night?
Weekend travel with Koleje Dolnośląskie means not only trips to the mountains or popular resorts, but also fast and comfortable evening connections between the region’s largest cities. A good option is KD Super Sprinter, an express train running at night from Wrocław to Środa Śląska in 19 minutes, Legnica in 34 minutes and Lubin in just 50 minutes. It allows passengers to return home quickly and safely after a late event or concert, of which there will be no shortage this weekend.
– KD Super Sprinter is the answer to the needs of our passengers, who increasingly want to travel flexibly, including late at night, while residents of Lower Silesia often spend their weekends actively. They go to the cinema, concerts, dinner or night-time events. KD Super Sprinter gives them the opportunity to return home by train without stress or planning. It is a convenient, modern solution and simply very Lower Silesian in spirit – spontaneous and open to people – adds Bartłomiej Rodak, press spokesperson for Koleje Dolnośląskie.
The train departs from Wrocław Main Station at 00:50, while the return journey from Lubin to Wrocław begins at 01:55, allowing residents of the region to travel conveniently even when other forms of transport are no longer operating.
The Lower Silesian Weekend Ticket can be purchased on the kolejedolnoslaskie.pl website, at ticket offices, at stations and in mobile applications such as KOLEO.
