The event called the Future Gala, organized to celebrate six years of St. Luke’s Hospital operating under the direction of Kamil Barczyk, sparked widespread interest and attracted national media attention. Mainly because of the event’s lavishness and the alcohol served in the sports hall located next to the secondary school.

– The gala was financed exclusively with funds transferred to the Foundation by donors and sponsors, in the form of financial and in-kind support – an anonymous person from the Foundation informed us.

The response sent to us was not signed by anyone authorized to represent the Foundation. It was drafted impersonally, without identifying the author or providing any identification of the person responsible for the information supplied.

– The Foundation received nearly 600 donations from individuals. A significant portion of the in-kind donations will be transferred to the hospital, as part of its equipment upgrades, after all costs related to organizing the gala have been settled. The same applies to some of the financial donations – the anonymous person added in a letter to the editorial office.

The letter also stated that the Foundation is carrying out settlements with partners and sponsors, because a substantial portion of the costs was covered by sponsors through services they provided or in-kind donations. This also applies to catering.

– The Foundation is fulfilling its reporting obligations and will submit a comprehensive financial report within the statutory deadline in order to ensure transparency of the undertaking – the anonymous person assured us, omitting the amounts we had asked about.

What about the alcohol served in the sports hall at I Liceum?

– The gala was a closed event and took place in a sports hall rented by the “Wspierajmy Zdrowie” Foundation as a standalone facility. The Foundation provided comprehensive support for the undertaking. The serving of alcoholic beverages was handled by an entity holding the appropriate license, in order to ensure full compliance with the applicable regulations – the anonymous person explained. They did not answer who financed the alcohol or on what basis it was served, given that the hall is located on school grounds.

Ewa Węglarowicz-Makowska, press spokesperson for the District Prosecutor’s Office in Jelenia Góra, assured us that the prosecutor’s office in Bolesławiec is not carrying out procedural activities in this matter and instructed us to contact the County Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec for information. We asked the spokesperson for the County Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec about this on 19 November and are awaiting a response.
