Residents are concerned about the prolonged duration of the work. Because of it, it is impossible to reach their properties.
– How are we supposed to leave our properties, or how is an ambulance or fire engine supposed to get there? – a resident asks.
The reconstruction covers two street sections with a combined length of 395.5 metres. The first section runs from the intersection with S. Okrzei Street to the intersection with S. Żeromskiego Street. The second runs from the intersection with S. Żeromskiego Street to the intersection with Artyleryjska Street. The scope of the work is extensive.
– The work is proceeding in accordance with the signed contract – says UM spokeswoman Agnieszka Gergont. – On 26 September, the Bolesławiec City Office handed over the construction site for the project “Reconstruction of Marii Konopnickiej Street in Bolesławiec”. The deadline for completing this project is 22 December – the spokeswoman adds.
Once the street reconstruction is complete, the load-bearing capacity and durability of the road surface will be improved, pedestrian safety will increase thanks to new pavements and kerbs, and the signage system will be clearer and more visible. The appearance of the green areas along the reconstructed sections will also improve. The work itself will result in traffic disruptions and short-term restrictions on parking availability.
