In response to the editorial team’s inquiry about the projects on Kleeberga and Orla streets, Bolesławiec City Hall provided up-to-date information on the tender procedures and the progress of the works.

As Urszula Bober, head of the Public Procurement and Municipal Investments Department, reported, both projects had tenders announced at the end of February 2025, after which the contractors were selected and the contracts were signed.

Kleeberga Street – side road

The construction of the side road off Kleeberga Street was originally scheduled for completion by October 31, 2025. As the City Hall reported, an annex was signed extending the completion date to November 21, 2025. – On November 19, the contractor submitted a notice of completion of the task together with the required documents – head Bober reported. This means that Kleeberga Street is already practically complete and may be officially accepted in the coming days.

Orla Street – side road

In the case of the reconstruction of the side road off Orla Street, the work will take somewhat longer. As the City Hall reported, the contractor submitted a request on November 13, 2025, to extend the deadline for completion of the works until January 30, 2026. The reason is the need for additional work that was not included in the original schedule.

Procurement plans unchanged

We also asked why the latest version of the 2025 Public Procurement Proceedings Plan (published in October) still lists the initiation date as “February 2025,” even though the procedures took place long ago. The City Hall explained that the dates entered in the plan are estimates and planning dates, and that the document itself is prepared from the moment the budget is adopted, in accordance with the Public Procurement Law.

What’s next for the roadworks?

Both projects—the construction of the side road off Kleeberga Street and the reconstruction of Orla Street—were included in the municipal public procurement plan as early as January 2025, with estimated contract values of PLN 647,500 and PLN 718,000, respectively. For residents of these areas, completion of the works primarily means a new road surface, drainage and parking spaces.
