Officers from the Border Guard Post in Zgorzelec, together with police officers and the Military Gendarmerie, conducted a border check of passengers on a Paris–Warsaw coach at the Jędrzychowice border crossing on 18 November. SM:

During the check, a 26-year-old foreigner from Sierra Leone was detained after presenting the officers with a forged Polish residence card.

As the officers explained:

The document aroused the officers’ suspicions, and a detailed check showed that the residence card did not have the required security features. During questioning, the foreigner admitted that he had bought the card online.

Additionally, the check revealed that the man had no other document authorizing him to enter and stay in Poland.

The outcome? Border Guard officers: – The 26-year-old was charged with using a forged document as if it were genuine. He pleaded guilty, confirming his intention to use the residence card purchased online to enter Poland.

They added: – As a result, the foreigner was handed over to the German side under readmission.
