Update
As reported by Zgorzelec112:
(...) the driver of one of the vehicles entered the end of the traffic jam at excessive speed, where traffic had stopped on the bridge over the Lusatian Neisse. The force of the impact was so great that it pushed the car standing in front of it into another vehicle.
One person died at the scene. Two people were injured. A man in critical condition was taken to hospital by helicopter. The third injured person—a woman—suffered only minor injuries.

The incident occurred on November 11 in the afternoon. As reported by the Zgorzelec police:
We would like to inform you that on the German side of the A4 motorway, beyond the border crossing in Jędrzychowice (Ludwigsdorf), a road accident occurred.
As a result, the motorway is currently blocked.
The officers add:
We appeal to drivers to exercise caution, monitor traffic levels and choose alternative routes.
As reported by Zgorzelec112.pl:
(…) there are injured people involved in the incident—two of them are in critical condition and are currently being resuscitated.
The website also reported that the Polish LPR helicopter was called to the scene, but was turned back due to weather conditions.
The police are investigating the causes and circumstances of the incident.
