In Saturday’s match (8 November), BKS Bolesławiec hosted LZS Kościelnik at the stadium on Spółdzielcza Street in Bolesławiec. The visitors’ team included several players who had previously played for the club from Spółdzielcza Street (Oskar Pochwała, Jakub Kwoczka, Mateusz Olesiński, Łukasz Kalisz, Jakub Mazur and Michał Dołgan). The visitors’ coach, Daniel Padewski, is also a resident of the City of Ceramics, so considerable excitement and a fierce battle for points were expected.

During the first 45 minutes, we saw plenty of battling in midfield. Both sides created several scoring opportunities, but the Kościelnik players attacked more dangerously. After one of their moves, the ball struck the post of the goal defended by Tomek Hajduczek.

After the teams changed ends, BKS gained the advantage. However, the hosts were unable to turn their chances into goals. Their shots were either too weak or stopped by the goalkeeper and Kościelnik players. The latter cleared the ball several times when it was heading towards the goal. As time passed, the game became more physical and increasingly tense.

Towards the end of the match, the fans saw many fouls and untidy play from both sides. Both teams had plenty of complaints about the referee and his decisions. In the final minutes, Kościelnik player Jakub Kwoczka left the pitch after a foul and a red card.

The match-winning move took place in added time. Marek Majka was fouled in the visitors’ penalty area, and the penalty was confidently converted by Miłosz Kozioł. It was the only goal of the match. A moment later, the referee brought the game to an end.

BKS Bolesławiec – LZS Kościelnik 1:0 (0:0).

This was the final autumn-round match at the stadium on Spółdzielcza Street. In a week, BKS will conclude its football autumn with an away match against Włókniarz Leśna.
