Police officers from Chojnów received an unusual report on Tuesday evening. – The duty officer at the Police Station in Chojnów received information about a horse moving along the A4 motorway, near the Krzywa interchange – reports Police Commissioner Jagoda Ekiert, press officer for the Municipal Police Headquarters in Legnica. – The report may have seemed unusual, but the officers treated it very seriously. The animal, which had found itself so close to a busy route, posed a real threat to itself and to drivers.

A patrol from the Police Station in Chojnów was immediately dispatched to the scene. The officers spotted the horse. It was moving along the strip of greenery between the roadway and the safety fence. The spokeswoman said: – The police secured the area, taking care of the safety of road users, while also beginning efforts to determine who the animal might belong to.

During that time, they contacted local residents and farms to identify the owner. The efforts lasted several hours. The outcome? At around 3:00 a.m., the horse was safely captured and placed in its owner’s care.

Thanks to the efficient coordination of the services and the responsible conduct of drivers, the incident ended happily—no one was injured, and the horse returned safe and sound.

Police officers remind animal owners of the need to regularly check fences and security measures. The escape of even one animal can lead to a very dangerous situation on the road.
