Officers of the Customs and Tax Service from the Lower Silesian Customs and Tax Office in Wrocław inspected two lorries travelling from Germany on the A4 motorway (near Jędrzychowice). – Shipments of more than 37 tonnes of waste in the form of aluminium scrap had been reported in the SENT system and were to be delivered to one of the towns in the Małopolskie Voivodeship – explains Agnieszka Rzeźnicka-Gniadek, press spokesperson for the Lower Silesian KAS.

She adds: – As a result of checking the documents, the officers established that the Polish recipient did not have a permit to process and dispose of the transported waste.

The result? WIOŚ deemed the shipment an illegal movement of waste, for which the recipient faces a fine of between PLN 10,000 and PLN 1 million.

The waste shipments were returned to the sender in Germany.
