Officers from the Traffic Division of the Bolesławiec Police stopped a van driver who significantly exceeded the speed limit in a built-up area. The man was driving at 100 km/h where the applicable limit was 40 km/h.

The road check took place in the morning in one of the rural localities in Bolesławiec Municipality. The 40-year-old, who disregarded the speed limit, was fined PLN 1,500 and received penalty points for the traffic offence. In addition, in accordance with the applicable regulations, he lost his driving licence for three months.

Police officers remind drivers that speed limits exist for a reason: they are intended to protect the lives and health of road users, especially in built-up areas, where pedestrians, cyclists and children may be present.
