Police officers from the Kowary Police Station, as a result of their investigation, detained a 38-year-old resident of Karkonosze County suspected of particularly brazen theft.
According to the officers’ findings, the incident occurred on 3 August 2025, at around 10:00 a.m. in Kowary. The case files show that the 38-year-old approached an 83-year-old woman near one of the buildings and tore her handbag away.
As a result of the incident, the elderly woman fell and suffered injuries. The perpetrator took PLN 100 from the handbag and then abandoned it near the scene. The officers determined that the 38-year-old had committed the act in a manner showing blatant disregard for the legal order.
The officers detained the man suspected of committing the crime based on the information they had gathered and after analysing footage from surveillance cameras.
During the evidentiary proceedings, the resident of Karkonosze County was charged with particularly brazen theft.
The perpetrator will now face court for the act, and he could be sentenced to up to 8 years in prison.
