An episode of the popular TVP culinary-detective programme with writer Marek Krajewski was filmed in Bolesławiec.
It was a unique combination of cooking, puzzles and the beauty of local flavours. As a result, a dish called Lower Silesian borki with game meat on Balkan pita was created in Bolesławiec. In this way, two symbols of our county were combined: the Lower Silesian Forests and the post-war history of the arrival in Bolesławiec of reemigrants from Bosnia and their culture.
During the programme, Marek Krajewski visited the Museum of Ceramics, while Orson searched for game meat for the borek, a Balkan pastry with filling. The chef chose venison for the filling, combining it with figs and braising it in red wine. Balkan cuisine was discussed with Orson by Halina Waniek, head of the Association of Reemigrants from Bosnia, Their Descendants and Friends, and Ewa Sondaj, together with women from the Housewives’ Association in Ocice.
What the Bolesławiec-Balkan borek tasted like and exactly how the dish was made can be seen on the VOD platform.

In the programme’s third instalment, the main protagonists, including Orson Hejnowicz and his team, travel around Poland with a food truck. Each episode becomes a mobile laboratory of flavours, using local, seasonal products from different regions. As a result, viewers see urban legends merge with rural aromas, while produce from a local field reaches the plate in a thoughtful and surprising way.
In addition to Hejnowicz and Krajewski, Adriana Marczewska and Martyna Żmuda-Trzebiatowska appeared on the programme. In every episode, Orson Hejnowicz creates a set of street-food dishes based on high-quality local products. The menu included, among other things:
- weed salad (full of freshness and herbal character)
- venison souvlaki (unusual, seasonal meat from regional farms),
- gingerbread churros (a spiced centre inspired by local baked goods)
- goat cheese samosas (a surprising combination of flavours, with a croccante texture and creamy centre)
Each dish not only tasted good but also told the story of the place and the people who create it. The street-food character combined with detective logic creates a series that engages, surprises and teaches respect for regional culinary traditions.
The main premise of this season takes the form of social support. In this way, areas affected by the 2024 flood are supported.
