I have been rollerblading since last year, and this year my whole family has joined me. I can see that many people have nowhere to rollerblade safely and comfortably. Now, to truly enjoy it, you have to get in the car and drive to Lwówek Śląski. They have a beautiful asphalt route there, over 10 km long. Here, neither in the city nor in its vicinity, is there anything like that.

The city takes pride in its cycling routes. But designating routes in a forest is not exactly an achievement. Perhaps someone could get to work on creating routes like those around Lwówek? We have so many beautiful areas around the city. It would be a great initiative, something that would attract a younger generation of tourists to Bolesławiec.

Of course, one can explain that there is no money and that there are many expenses. But other cities are doing something in this direction, while here there is NOTHING. How does Bolesławiec want to attract tourists? The older generation may walk through the new parks or the renovated Market Square. But for people in their 20s, 30s and 40s, that is certainly not enough. Will someone finally deal with this?

“This year's investments do not include funds for building routes for rollerbladers. The budget does, however, provide funds for building cycle paths—as an extension of the routes already in existence,” Agnieszka Gergont, spokesperson for Bolesławiec city hall, explained to us.

The spokesperson also addressed the accusation that city hall does not know how to attract people in their 20s, 30s and 40s to Bolesławiec. “One idea for making the city more attractive to people who enjoy active leisure is the construction of the Bolesławiec “Orka” Aquatic Park, which will open on June 1,” she noted. “It is also worth mentioning the new sports hall on Jana Pawła II Street. In addition, the Orlik sports complex is very popular. During the winter, residents of both Bolesławiec and nearby towns are eager to use the indoor ice rink.

Agnieszka Gergont also added that the Municipal Sports and Recreation Centre “organizes a range of sports and recreational events for sports enthusiasts. The Open Bolesławiec Championships are held regularly, offering an open sports and recreational program for all residents, regardless of age or gender. Both athletes who compete professionally and amateurs may take part in the OMB tournaments.”

Would a route for rollerbladers be useful in our city? We invite you to join the discussion.
