Officers of the Customs and Tax Service from the Lower Silesian Customs and Tax Office in Wrocław, together with police officers, carried out a joint operation targeting illegal gambling. The result? Two illegal gambling venues were shut down in Lubin.
– During the operation, the services seized 13 gambling machines, more than PLN 17,000 originating from illegal gambling machines, and 32 g of marijuana – says Agnieszka Rzeźnicka-Gniadek, spokesperson for the Lower Silesian KAS.
She adds: – The officers detained two people who were charged with organizing illegal gambling.
The drugs were secured by the Police.

Under the regulations, operating gambling games outside a casino without the required license is a crime and entails criminal liability. Possessing illegal gambling machines and other equipment enabling gambling is punishable by severe fines of PLN 100,000 per machine. These penalties apply both to the person organizing illegal gambling and to the owner of the premises where unregistered machines operate.
In addition to a hefty fine, organizing illegal games is also punishable by up to 3 years in prison.
