As we read on Pauza Godzieszów’s social media profile:
(…) at night, at 12:37 a.m., someone tried to set fire to the roof of the restaurant being built next to our store.
The store adds:
What do we know? A man dressed in black, wearing a baseball cap with a hood pulled over it. He had a backpack on his back, with a white inscription on it; he probably carried the items intended for setting the fire in a plastic shopping bag. Left-handed.
It also emphasizes:
If anyone saw such a person in the village, has any information, or recognizes the guy in the footage, please contact us.
A reward is offered for identifying the perpetrator.
The incident occurred on the night of October 13–14. Firefighters from Nowogrodziec:
(…) at 12:53 a.m. we set out with a heavy fire engine and an aerial ladder to a fire in Godzieszów.
They add: – At the scene, the thatched roof of a newly built restaurant was on fire; fortunately, the affected area was small.
They also add:
Thanks to two aerial ladders and efficient demolition and firefighting operations, the fire was brought under control in its initial phase and losses were kept to a minimum.
The danger was eliminated and, fortunately, no one was injured. Approximately 25 square metres of the roof were damaged. The police are investigating the case.
