A Reader, a resident of Zabobrze, wrote to us:

I would like to draw your attention to a problem that personally irritates me and poses a direct threat to residents, drivers, children and pets on Zabobrze Street. For some time now—including last year—PKS drivers, presumably wanting to avoid the traffic jam that forms every weekday morning on Zgorzelecka Street, have been taking a shortcut along Zabobrze Street, where the speed limit is 30 km/h.

He added: – Quite apart from the size of the bus on this narrow road, the speed at which they travel is astonishing. In my opinion, although I am unable to measure it, it is at least 60 km/h or more.

He also stressed: “Zabobrze Street is characterized by dense development. Children leave for MZK stops in the morning, and there are many minor roads in the neighborhood from which it is frightening to pull out for fear of a speeding bus.

He also appealed: – Please pay attention to this problem and to the irresponsible behavior of PKS drivers, who have no regard for regulations or safety.

He also sent a photograph of one of the carrier’s vehicles.

We officially asked the county-owned company about the matter on September 17. So far, we have not received a response.
