Bishop Andrzej Siemieniewski has decided to send a new priest to Węgliniec. On the social media profile of the Parish of the Ascension of the Lord in Snowidza, we read:

During today’s Holy Mass, we said farewell to our parish priest, Father Daniel, who, by decision of the Bishop of Legnica, was appointed parish priest of the parish in Węgliniec. We are sad and, at the same time, finding this decision difficult to accept... Thank you for these three years with us.

We established that Fr. Daniel Kościelny will indeed serve in Węgliniec. He confirmed this himself in a conversation with us. However, he will not be the parish priest (this was an error in the post on the social media profile).

Formally, the parish priest is still Fr. Andrzej Jarosiewicz. We learned from Węgliniec residents that Fr. Jarosiewicz permanently moved out of the parish on Saturday. We do not know where he went, but probably not to the Home for Retired Priests in Legnica, as had previously been reported.

Let us recall that at the end of September we reported that Father Andrzej Jarosiewicz was removed from his current parish in Węgliniec. This was connected with proceedings concerning suspected irregularities in his previous parish in Bolesławiec. Jarosiewicz is to be transferred elsewhere for the time being.

In July, a judgment was issued in the case of Fr. Andrzej Jarosiewicz and his celebrity colleague, Adrian Drankowski, who is 30 years younger, against the journalists of istotne.pl. The priest and the celebrity accused the editorial team of defamation. The journalists were acquitted. The judgment is not final because Drankowski and Jarosiewicz have filed an appeal.
