Yesterday after 7:00 p.m., a tragic accident occurred between Czerwona Woda and Węgliniec. Preliminary findings indicate that the 34-year-old driver of a Renault failed to adjust her speed to the prevailing road conditions. On a bend, this caused the vehicle to leave the road and then overturn. The woman died at the scene. The 11-year-old passenger was taken to hospital.

Under the supervision of a prosecutor, police officers from the Traffic Division and a forensic technician worked at the scene.

Police warn: autumn weather, rainfall, early dusk and wet road surfaces significantly increase braking distance and reduce a vehicle’s grip. That is why it is so important to adjust speed to the road conditions and maintain a safe distance from the vehicle ahead.
