The Minister of the Interior and Administration has signed a regulation extending temporary border controls at the borders with Germany and Lithuania. – Under the regulation of the Minister of the Interior and Administration, from 5 October 2025, border controls will be conducted for another six months, i.e. until 4 April 2026. – informs Senior Warrant Officer Małgorzata Potoczna of the Nadodrzański Border Guard Unit.
Minister Marcin Kierwiński explains:
We are extending controls at the borders with Germany and Lithuania in order to monitor the migration route leading from the Baltic countries, through Poland, to Western Europe. We are identifying people who are illegally attempting to smuggle migrants to the West. The Border Guard’s key task remains maintaining the integrity of the border and protecting the border with Belarus from migratory pressure.
