Concerned residents heard sounds of explosions that were nothing other than military exercises at the training grounds in Świętoszów and Karliki near Żagań.
Information available on the website of the Land Forces Training Area Training Centre in Żagań states that live-fire exercises have been conducted at both training grounds since 15 September.
Today (Thursday, 18 September), firing exercises are scheduled from midnight to 1:00 a.m. (Karliki and Świętoszów sectors) and from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (Karliki sector).
On Friday (19 September), firing exercises will take place only in the Karliki sector, from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. On Saturday and Sunday (20 and 21 September), there will be no such exercises at either training ground.
