Officers from the Bolesławiec police unit recovered the stolen vehicle and arrested the perpetrator. The police headquarters: – The victim left the car with the keys in the ignition on the premises of a company he had visited to obtain a valuation of car parts. The perpetrator also appeared at the facility and took advantage of the easy access to the vehicle.
The officers add: – Based on the information collected about the circumstances of the theft, which took place in the Bolesławiec municipality, and on the identification of a suspect, the police took action that led to locating and arresting a 23-year-old resident of Warta Bolesławiecka municipality.
When the perpetrator realized that police officers were heading in his direction, he got rid of the key to the stolen car by throwing it into a leaflet box.
It did him little good. The unit:
The officers first secured the key and then located the place where the vehicle, worth 1,000 zlotys and lost as a result of the crime, was located.
The outcome? The suspect heard a total of four charges because he had committed other offenses as well. During the summer, he committed three shoplifting offenses, causing total losses of nearly 3,000 zlotys.
Theft is punishable by up to five years in prison.
