(…) I would be grateful if you could share information about the dangerous dogs that are repeatedly seen in the vicinity of Ceramiczna Street and Bolesławice (last seen on 9 September 2025) roaming free.

The matter is reported to the police every time.

We appeal for action!

Dogs running loose in the city may be dangerous for several reasons:

  1. Risk of aggression toward people and animals:

    • Even if a dog is calm on a daily basis, it may attack in a stressful situation (noise, crowds, other dogs).

    • They are particularly dangerous for children, who are not always able to react appropriately.

  2. Danger to road traffic:

    • Dogs running loose may run onto the road, causing accidents.

  3. Spread of diseases:

    • Unattended dogs may be unvaccinated, increasing the risk of diseases such as rabies.

  4. Attacks on other animals:

    • They may chase, injure or kill cats, birds, and even other dogs being walked on leashes.

  5. Fear and social discomfort:

    • The presence of a large, unfamiliar dog without an owner causes fear—particularly among older people, children or women returning home in the evening.

  6. A lone dog may also feel threatened (and may itself be in danger):

    • It may be hit by a vehicle, poisoned, beaten or injure itself in unfamiliar surroundings.
