The arrests took place last weekend on the Lower Silesian section of the A4 motorway. Wrocław KWP: – Officers from the Criminal Division of the Provincial Police Headquarters in Wrocław, acting on detailed information provided by criminal police officers from the Lublin provincial headquarters, took action against a vehicle in which couriers involved in the illegal transport of migrants were reportedly travelling.

The rapid exchange of data between units and efficient coordination by the duty service of the KWP in Wrocław made it possible to precisely identify the vehicle and effectively organise the operation. Police: – When officers attempted to immobilise the Volkswagen in which the couriers were travelling, the driver and passenger still tried to evade responsibility; however, the police officers’ decisive and dynamic actions ended with their arrest.

The vehicle carrying the Moldovan nationals also contained five Ethiopian nationals who had illegally crossed the Polish border. The entire group was taken to a police unit.

Both couriers were arrested and have already been charged in connection with organising the illegal crossing of the border. They could face up to eight years in prison. Their further fate will be decided by the court, which ordered the men to be remanded in custody for three months. The Ethiopian nationals, meanwhile, were handed over to Border Guard officers.
